Wow that went by quick. What have you learned?

Now it is 2011. What the hell? And where did it go? Do you remember being told when you were young that the time just goes by faster and faster as you get old so quit wishing you were 18 or 21 or whatever it was at that time?

I remember the day Kennedy got killed(the president), they let us out of school early that day, and while I was walking home I figured out what year it would be when I turned 50, I laughed because I knew the world would end long before that year ever got here.

I am a bit more cynical now than I was then. I have experienced a few more ups and downs. Been to places and then back again. Seen good people do bad things and I have seen bad people everywhere I go. I have watched bad things unfold the lives of people trying to do good and I am certain that most of the good people are not provided with as many opportunities as they should be. I guess that is what qualifies people as good----they are able to make do no matter what.

I understand that the promised land is bullshit. If you want something, you need to get up off your butt and go take it. There is no goose pushing out golden eggs around here that is the entire truth. Sure that is not a list of all the steps you might need to take to get what you want, but you can bank on the fact that if you don't work for your goals you will never reach them.

In some cases you might even work your little behind off trying to reach specific goals and as soon as they come into focus some jerk pulls the carpet out from under your feet. But they do it only as they are reaching for the goals they have set for themselves. Bullshit. Some will do it just out of spite. Or maybe because they cannot stand to see another person happy and content.

Okay, that is good for now. Welcome to 2011 belated but welcome anyway.
