The many challenges of living on the road because of the job can be inundating, to say the least. Currently I live with four adult men, one of which speaks zero English, and one other presents a plethora or issues. I will refer to him as pain number one. So PN1 has moved his bed into the living area of the small two bedroom apartment we occupy because he says he cannot tolerate the snoring his roommate does at night.
The living area, like all apartments is a part of the dinning and kitchen area. It is also the only space that provides access to the bathroom, refrigerator, sink, etc etc. In other words any movement in the place transverses his bedroom. Let me clarify that he is from a different country with a different culture, just thought I would put that out there in a politically correct manner.
This morning PN1 says to me that I cannot make coffee in the morning before 6:00AM, which is the time we leave for work, of course I tell him to move back into the bedroom to solve the issue. He cannot even seem to understand that he is the one who has put himself in a place where there is bound to be a level of disturbance each morning and I will not let him impose on the normal routines due to his choices of bunking locations.
Cultural and personal differences may cause problems down the road. But I am so willing to continue to live the way I want to regardless of PN1’s choices that the outcome is irrelevant. I guess that is all there is to say about that whole situation. I am certain that my ranting on and on about the conditions I put up with each day only serves as an outlet that does not include stupid behavior like arguing and bickering between grown men about such easily fixed issues.
