Working on the Road

I find myself in a place named Watertown, New York working for a new company doing new things. All of this is good in a way, I don't much care for being away from my home and all of the daily comforts there but I can tolerate it for a time.

I do enjoy traveling and meeting new folks along with having new experiences in new places. I find it all lends support to my ideas about people places and things. They are what you make of them no more, no less.

It seems a universal reality that most people live in small little shells and are afraid of the world in general. Once and a great while I run into someone that is different in that they are willing to extend themselves with a smile or a handshake, but for the most part people go about their days sticking to themselves and their own realities.

I could be very sarcastic about this but why waste the energy on the negative side. Instead let me just say that it is okay for people to withdraw into a void and resist the natural ability to humanize the experience of living. It is just such a waste and it does bug me that it happens more than not.
